Simon Burness has been involved in the Accountancy business for more than 25 years. He has been running his own business for nearly 20 years and has lived on Hayling Island nearly 15 years.

“I like to feel I can provide a friendly more personal service than most of my competitors. Although I have help from a couple of subcontractors I am essentially a ‘one man band’ so clients will always be dealing with me personally. I think that is something that appeals to many of my clients.

I prepare Year End Accounts, PAYE and VAT with monthly Management Accounts being a speciality. Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies can all be accounted for.

I am used to using all sorts of accounts software with Sage being a particular favourite. I can set this all up for clients and am happy to give advice on business start-ups. I can also put together Business Plans for presentation to banks etc.

Working from home my overheads are low enough for me to be able to offer very reasonable rates. I am also not currently VAT registered which makes me very competitive for clients who are also unregistered and would therefore normally not be in a position to claim back the VAT they would be charged elsewhere.”
